Then the year 158 AH began
وَفِيهَا غَزَا الصَّائِفَةَ مَعْيُوفُ بْنُ يَحْيَى مِنْ دَرْبِ الْحَدَثِ، فَلَقِيَ الْعَدُوَّ، فَاقْتَتَلُوا، ثُمَّ تَحَاجَزُوا. ثُمَّ دَخَلَتْ سَنَةُ ثَمَانٍ وَخَمْسِينَ وَمِائَةٍ فَمِنَ الْحَوَادِثِ فِيهَا غَزْوَةُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أُسَيْدٍ السُّلَمِيِّ الصَّائِفَةَ، وَفُتِحَتِ الطَّالَقَانُ وَطَبَرِسْتَانُ وَنَهَاوَنْدُ عَلَى يَدَيْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ.
Translation
✧ In it, Maʿyūf b. Yaḥyā raided the summer expedition force from Darb al-Ḥadath. He met the enemy, and they fought; then they separated. Then the year 158 AH began. Among its events was the summer expedition of Yazīd b. Usayd al-Sulamī, and al-Ṭālaqān, Ṭabaristān, and Nahāwand were conquered at the hands of ʿUmar b. al-ʿAlāʾ.
