Translation

✧ Mention of the strife in Ifrīqiyah with the Khawārij We have already mentioned the flight of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Ḥabīb—whose father had been governor of Ifrīqiyah—with the Khawārij, and his joining Kutāmah. Yazīd b. Ḥātim, the governor of Ifrīqiyah, sent the army after him, and they fought Kutāmah. When this year came, Yazīd sent another army as reinforcement for those fighting ʿAbd al-Raḥmān. The siege against ʿAbd al-Raḥmān intensified, so he departed as a fugitive and left his position, and the armies returned from him.
