Then the year 154 AH began
وَجَهَّزَ يَزِيدَ بْنَ حَاتِمٍ فِي خَمْسِينَ أَلْفًا، وَوَلَّاهُ بِلَادَ إِفْرِيقِيَّةَ، وَأَمَرَهُ بِقِتَالِ الْخَوَارِجِ، وَأَنْفَقَ عَلَى هَذَا الْجَيْشِ نَحْوًا مِنْ ثَلَاثَةٍ وَسِتِّينَ أَلْفَ أَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ.
Translation
✧ He equipped Yazīd b. Ḥātim with fifty thousand men, appointed him over the lands of Ifrīqiyyah, and commanded him to fight the Khawārij. He spent on this army approximately sixty-three million dirhams.
