Then the year 154 AH began
ثُمَّ دَخَلَتْ سَنَةُ أَرْبَعٍ وَخَمْسِينَ وَمِائَةٍ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ سَارَ الْمَنْصُورُ إِلَى الشَّامِ وَبَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ، وَسَيَّرَ يَزِيدَ بْنَ حَاتِمِ بْنِ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ الْمُهَلَّبِ بْنِ أَبِي صُفْرَةَ إِلَى إِفْرِيقِيَّةَ فِي خَمْسِينَ أَلْفًا لِحَرْبِ الْخَوَارِجِ الَّذِينَ قَتَلُوا عُمَرَ بْنَ حَفْصٍ وَأَنْفَقَ عَلَى هَذَا الْجَيْشِ نَحْوًا مِنْ ثَلَاثَةٍ وَسِتِّينَ أَلْفَ أَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ.
Translation
✧ Then the year 154 AH began In this year al-Manṣūr traveled to Syria and Jerusalem, and he dispatched Yazīd b. Ḥātim b. Qabīṣah b. al-Muhallab b. Abī Ṣufrah to Ifrīqiyyah with fifty thousand men to fight the Khawārij who had killed ʿUmar b. Ḥafṣ. He spent on this army approximately sixty-three million dirhams.
