Then the year 142 AH began
وَفِيهَا مَاتَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْبَصْرَةِ فِي جُمَادَى الْآخِرَةِ، وَعُمُرُهُ تِسْعٌ وَخَمْسُونَ سَنَةً، وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ أَخُوهُ عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ
Translation
✧ In it, Sulaymān b. ʿAlī b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAbbās died while he was governor of al-Baṣrah in Jumādá al-Ākhirah, and his age was fifty-nine years, and his brother ʿAbd al-Ṣamad prayed over him.
