Then the year 140 AH began

Translation

✧ In this year Adhfunsh, king of Jillīqiyya, perished, and after him his son Tudwīliyya became king. He was braver than his father, and better at governing and controlling the kingdom. His father’s reign had lasted eighteen years. When his son became king, his power grew strong and his authority became great; he expelled the Muslims from the frontier regions of the land, and he took possession of the city of Lukk, Burtuqāl, Shalamanqa, Shamūra, Ayala, Shaqūbiyya, and Qashtāla — all of these being in al-Andalus.
