Then the Year 137 AH Began

وَحَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ هَذِهِ السَّنَةَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمَوْصِلِ . وَكَانَ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ: زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَعَلَى مَكَّةَ: الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ. وَمَاتَ الْعَبَّاسُ عِنْدَ انْقِضَاءِ الْمَوْسِمِ، فَضَمَّ إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَمَلَهُ إِلَى زِيَادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَأَقَرَّهُ الْمَنْصُورُ عَلَيْهِ. وَكَانَ عَلَى الْكُوفَةِ: عِيسَى بْنُ مُوسَى، وَعَلَى الْبَصْرَةِ وَأَعْمَالِهَا: سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، وَعَلَى قَضَائِهَا: عُمَرُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ السُّلَمِيُّ. وَعَلَى خُرَاسَانَ: أَبُو دَاوُدَ خَالِدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَلَى مِصْرَ: صَالِحُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، وَعَلَى الْجَزِيرَةِ: حُمَيْدُ بْنُ قَحْطَبَةَ، وَعَلَى الْمَوْصِلِ: إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَهِيَ عَلَى مَا كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ الِاجْتِدَالِ.

Translation

✧ The people performed the pilgrimage this year led by Ismāʿīl b. ʿAlī b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAbbās, while he was governor of al-Mawṣil. Over al-Madīnah was Ziyād b. ʿAbd Allāh, and over Makkah was al-ʿAbbās b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Maʿbad. Al-ʿAbbās died at the close of the pilgrimage season, so Ismāʿīl annexed his post to Ziyād b. ʿAbd Allāh, and al-Manṣūr confirmed him in it. Over al-Kūfah was ʿĪsā b. Mūsā, and over al-Baṣrah and its districts was Sulaymān b. ʿAlī, and over its judiciary was ʿUmar b. ʿĀmir al-Sulamī. Over Khurāsān was Abū Dāwūd Khālid b. Ibrāhīm, over Miṣr was Ṣāliḥ b. ʿAlī, over al-Jazīrah was Ḥumayd b. Qaḥṭabah, and over al-Mawṣil was Ismāʿīl b. ʿAlī b. ʿAbd Allāh, and it remained as it had been in its uprightness.
