Then the Year 134 AH Began
ذِكْرُ مَنْ تُوُفِّيَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ مِنَ الْأَكَابِرِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ: كَانَ عَلَى الْيَمَنِ مِنْ قِبَلِ السَّفَّاحِ، فَتُوُفِّيَ. فَكَتَبَ السَّفَّاحُ بِوِلَايَتِهَا لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَارِثِيِّ، ابْنِ خَالِ السَّفَّاحِ. وَفِيهَا تُوُفِّيَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، وَسَعْدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ الزُّرَقِيُّ. وَمِمَّنْ تُوُفِّيَ فِيهَا مِنَ الْأَعْيَانِ: أَبُو هَارُونَ الْعَبْدِيُّ عُمَارَةُ بْنُ جُوَيْنٍ، وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ.
Translation
✧ Mention of the notables who died in this year Muḥammad b. Yazīd b. ʿUbayd Allāh: He was over Yemen on behalf of al-Saffāḥ, and he died. So al-Saffāḥ wrote, granting its governorship to ʿAlī b. al-Rabīʿ b. ʿUbayd Allāh al-Ḥārithī, the maternal cousin of al-Saffāḥ. In it also died Ismāʿīl b. Saʿd b. Abī Waqqāṣ, and Saʿd b. ʿAmr b. Sulaym al-Zuraqī. Among the notables who died in it: Abū Hārūn al-ʿAbdī ʿUmārah b. Juwayn, and Yazīd b. Yazīd b. Jābir al-Dimashqī.
