Then the Year 134 AH Began
وَفِيهَا تُوُفِّيَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْيَمَنِ ، فَاسْتَعْمَلَ السَّفَّاحُ مَكَانَهُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ. وَفِيهَا تَحَوَّلَ السَّفَّاحُ مِنَ الْحِيرَةِ إِلَى الْأَنْبَارِ فِي ذِي الْحِجَّةِ. وَفِيهَا ضُرِبَ الْمَنَارُ مِنَ الْكُوفَةِ إِلَى مَكَّةَ وَالْأَمْيَالِ. وَحَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ هَذِهِ السَّنَةَ عِيسَى بْنُ مُوسَى وَهُوَ عَلَى الْكُوفَةِ. وَكَانَ عَلَى قَضَاءِ الْكُوفَةِ: ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى، وَعَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَمَكَّةَ وَالطَّائِفِ وَالْيَمَامَةِ: زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَعَلَى الْيَمَنِ: عَلِيُّ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ الْحَارِثِيُّ، وَعَلَى الْبَصْرَةِ وَأَعْمَالِهَا وَكُوَرِ دِجْلَةَ وَعُمَانَ: سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، وَعَلَى قَضَائِهَا: عَبَّادُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ. وَعَلَى السِّنْدِ: مُوسَى بْنُ كَعْبٍ، وَعَلَى خُرَاسَانَ وَالْجِبَالِ: أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ، وَعَلَى فِلَسْطِينَ: صَالِحُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، وَعَلَى مِصْرَ: أَبُو عَوْنٍ، وَعَلَى الْمَوْصِلِ: إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، وَعَلَى إِرْمِينِيَّةَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ أُسَيْدٍ، وَعَلَى أَذْرَبِيجَانَ: مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صُولٍ، وَعَلَى دِيوَانِ الْخَرَاجِ: خَالِدُ بْنُ بَرْمَكَ، وَعَلَى الْجَزِيرَةِ: أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الْمَنْصُورُ. وَكَانَ عَامِلَهُ عَلَى أَذْرَبِيجَانَ وَإِرْمِينِيَّةَ مَنْ ذَكَرْنَا، وَعَلَى الشَّامِ: عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ.
Translation
✧ In it, Muḥammad b. Yazīd b. ʿAbd Allāh died while he was over Yemen, so al-Saffāḥ appointed in his place ʿAlī b. al-Rabīʿ b. ʿUbayd Allāh. In it, al-Saffāḥ moved from al-Ḥīrah to al-Anbār in Dhū al-Ḥijjah. In it, mileposts and milestones were set up from al-Kūfah to Makkah. ʿĪsā b. Mūsā led the people in pilgrimage this year while he was over al-Kūfah. Over the judiciary of al-Kūfah was Ibn Abī Laylā; over al-Madīnah, Makkah, al-Ṭāʾif, and al-Yamāmah was Ziyād b. ʿAbd Allāh; over Yemen was ʿAlī b. al-Rabīʿ al-Ḥārithī; over al-Baṣrah and its districts, the districts of the Tigris, and ʿUmān was Sulaymān b. ʿAlī, and over its judiciary was ʿAbbād b. Manṣūr. Over al-Sind was Mūsā b. Kaʿb; over Khurāsān and al-Jibāl was Abū Muslim; over Filasṭīn was Ṣāliḥ b. ʿAlī; over Miṣr was Abū ʿAwn; over al-Mawṣil was Ismāʿīl b. ʿAlī; over Irminiyyah was Yazīd b. Usayd; over Adharbayjān was Muḥammad b. Ṣūl; over the dīwān of the kharāj was Khālid b. Barmak; and over al-Jazīrah was Abū Jaʿfar al-Manṣūr. His governor over Adharbayjān and Irminiyyah was whom we have mentioned, and over al-Shām was ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAlī.
