Translation
✧ Mention of the situation of Manṣūr b. Jumhūr In this year, al-Saffāḥ dispatched Mūsā b. Kaʿb to al-Sind to fight Manṣūr b. Jumhūr. He set out and left in his place over al-Saffāḥ's shurṭa al-Musayyab b. Zuhayr. Mūsā arrived at al-Sind and met Manṣūr at the head of twelve thousand. Manṣūr and those with him were routed, and he departed and died of thirst in the sands. It has also been said that his stomach afflicted him, and so he died. His deputy over al-Sind heard of his rout, so he departed with the family and baggage of Manṣūr and entered with them the land of the Khazar.
