ذِكْرُ غَزْوَةِ كِسَّ وَفِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ غَزَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ خَالِدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَهْلَ كِسَّ، فَقَتَلَ الْإِخْرِيدَ مَلِكَهَا، وَهُوَ سَامِعٌ مُطِيعٌ، وَقَتَلَ أَصْحَابَهُ وَأَخَذَ مِنْهُمْ مِنَ الْأَوَانِي الصِّينِيَّةِ الْمَنْقُوشَةِ الْمُذَهَّبَةِ مَا لَمْ يُرَ مِثْلُهَا، وَمِنَ السُّرُوجِ وَمَتَاعِ الصِّينِ كُلِّهِ مِنَ الدِّيبَاجِ وَالطُّرَفِ شَيْئًا كَثِيرًا، فَحَمَلَهُ إِلَى أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ وَهُوَ بِسَمَرْقَنْدَ، وَقَتَلَ عِدَّةً مِنْ دَهَاقِينِهِمْ، وَاسْتَحْيَا طَارَانَ أَخَا الْإِخْرِيدِ، وَمَلَّكَهُ عَلَى كِسَّ. وَانْصَرَفَ أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ إِلَى مَرْوَ بَعْدَ أَنْ قَتَلَ فِي أَهْلِ الصُّغْدِ وَبُخَارَى، وَأَمَرَ بِبِنَاءِ سُورِ سَمَرْقَنْدَ، وَاسْتَخْلَفَ زِيَادَ بْنَ صَالِحٍ عَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى بُخَارَى، وَرَجَعَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ إِلَى بَلْخَ.
Translation
✧ Mention of the campaign of Kiss In this year Abū Dāwūd Khālid b. Ibrāhīm raided the people of Kiss. He killed al-Ikhrīd, its king, while he was obedient and compliant, and killed his companions. He took from them Chinese vessels, engraved and gilded, the like of which had never been seen, and many saddles and all kinds of Chinese goods, such as silk brocade and rare items. He carried them to Abū Muslim while he was in Samarqand. He killed a number of their dihqāns and spared Ṭārān, the brother of al-Ikhrīd, and made him king over Kiss. Abū Muslim then returned to Marw after killing among the people of al-Ṣughd and Bukhārā. He ordered the construction of the wall of Samarqand and appointed Ziyād b. Ṣāliḥ as his deputy over it and over Bukhārā. Abū Dāwūd returned to Balkh.
