Tarikh (al-Tabari) 2686
Then the Year 132 AH Began
Translation
✧ Mention of the renunciation of Ḥabīb b. Murrah al-Murrī In this year Ḥabīb b. Murrah al-Murrī raised the white banner, and he and those with him from the people of al-Bathaniyyah and Ḥawrān renounced allegiance. Their renunciation was before the renunciation of Abū al-Ward. ʿAbd Allāh marched against him and fought him in successive engagements. Ḥabīb was one of Marwān's commanders and horsemen. The reason for his raising the white banner was fear for himself and his people. Qays and others who were adjacent to them pledged allegiance to him. When the news of Abū al-Ward's rebellion and raising of the white banner reached ʿAbd Allāh, he summoned Ḥabīb to a peace settlement, so he made peace with him and granted him security along with him, and he marched towards Abū al-Ward.
