ذِكْرُ شِيعَةِ بَنِي الْعَبَّاسِ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ تَوَجَّهَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ وَلَاهِزُ بْنُ قُرَيْظٍ وَقَحْطَبَةُ إِلَى مَكَّةَ، فَلَقُوا إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ الْإِمَامَ بِهَا وَأَوْصَلُوا إِلَى مَوْلًى لَهُ عِشْرِينَ أَلْفَ دِينَارٍ وَمِائَتَيْ أَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ وَمِسْكًا وَمَتَاعًا كَثِيرًا، وَكَانَ مَعَهُمْ أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ، فَقَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ لِإِبْرَاهِيمَ: هَذَا مَوْلَاكَ. وَفِيهَا كَتَبَ بُكَيْرُ بْنُ مَاهَانَ إِلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْإِمَامِ أَنَّهُ فِي الْمَوْتِ، وَأَنَّهُ قَدِ اسْتَخْلَفَ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ حَفْصَ بْنَ سُلَيْمَانَ، وَهُوَ رِضًى لِلْأَمْرِ، فَكَتَبَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ لِأَبِي سَلَمَةَ يَأْمُرُهُ بِالْقِيَامِ بِأَمْرِ أَصْحَابِهِ، وَكَتَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِ خُرَاسَانَ ( يُخْبِرُهُمْ أَنَّهُ قَدْ أَسْنَدَ ) أَمْرَهُمْ إِلَيْهِ، وَمَضَى أَبُو سَلَمَةَ إِلَى خُرَاسَانَ )، فَصَدَّقُوهُ وَقَبِلُوا أَمْرَهُ، وَدَفَعُوا إِلَيْهِ مَا اجْتَمَعَ عِنْدَهُمْ مِنْ نَفَقَاتِ الشِّيعَةِ وَخُمُسِ أَمْوَالِهِمْ.
Translation
✧ Mention of the Shīʿa of Banū al-ʿAbbās In this year Sulaymān b. Kathīr, Lāhiz b. Qurayẓ and Qaḥṭaba went to Makkah, and they met Ibrāhīm b. Muḥammad the Imām there. They delivered to a mawlā of his twenty thousand dinars and two hundred thousand dirhams, along with much musk and goods. Abū Muslim was with them, and Sulaymān said to Ibrāhīm: “This is your mawlā.” In it Bukayr b. Māhān wrote to Ibrāhīm the Imām that he was on the point of death and that he had appointed as his successor Abū Salama Ḥafṣ b. Sulaymān, who was acceptable for the matter. So Ibrāhīm wrote to Abū Salama, commanding him to take charge of the affairs of his companions, and he wrote to the people of Khurāsān, informing them that he had entrusted their affair to him. Abū Salama proceeded to Khurāsān, and they believed him and accepted his command, delivering to him what had been collected among them from the contributions of the Shīʿa and the fifth of their wealth.
