The Year 113
وفي سنة ثلاث عشرة ومائة كانت غَزْوَةُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ هِشَامٍ أَرْضَ الرُّومِ، فَرَابَطَ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ. وَفِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ: صَارَ جَمَاعَةٌ مِنْ دُعَاةِ بَنِي الْعَبَّاسِ إِلَى خُرَاسَانَ، فَأَخَذَ الْجُنَيْدُ رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ فَقَتَلَهُ، وَقَالَ: مَنْ أُصِيبَ مِنْهُمْ فَدَمُهُ هَدَرٌ. وَفِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ: حَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، وَقِيلَ: بَلْ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ. وَأَمَّا عُمَّالُ الْبِلَادِ فَالَّذِينَ كَانُوا فِي السَّنَةِ الَّتِي قَبْلَ هَذِهِ.
Translation
✧ In the year 113, there was the military expedition of Muʿāwiyah b. Hishām to the land of the Byzantines; he remained stationed on the frontier for a while, then returned. In this year, a group of the propagandists of the Banū al-ʿAbbās went to Khurāsān. Al-Junayd seized a man from among them and killed him, and said: “Whoever of them is struck down, his blood is forfeit.” In this year, the pilgrimage with the people was led by Sulaymān b. Hishām b. ʿAbd al-Malik, and it was said: rather, Ibrāhīm b. Hishām al-Makhzūmī. As for the governors of the provinces, they were those who had been in the previous year.
