The Year 107
وَفِي سنة سبع ومائة قَدِمَ مُسْلِمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ إِلَى خَالِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، فَكَانَ أَسَدٌ يُكْرِمُهُ بِخُرَاسَانَ وَلَمْ يَعْرِضْ لَهُ، فَقَدِمَ مُسْلِمٌ وَابْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ يُرِيدُ الْهَرَبَ، فَنَهَاهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، وَقَالَ: إِنِ الْقَوْمَ فِينَا أَحْسَنُ رَأْيًا مِنْكُمْ فِيهِمْ.
Translation
✧ In the year one hundred and seven, Muslim b. Saʿīd came to Khālid b. ʿAbd Allāh. Asad had honored him in Khurāsān and had not opposed him. Muslim arrived while Ibn Hubayrah was intending to flee, so he forbade him from that, and said: "The people have a better opinion of us than you have of them."
