وفِي سنة اثنتين ومائة غَزَا عُمَرُ بْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ الرُّومَ مِنْ نَاحِيَةِ أَرْمِينِيَّةَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْجَزِيرَةِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَلِيَ الْعِرَاقَ، فَهَزَمَهُمْ وَأَسَرَ مِنْهُمْ خَلْقًا كَثِيرًا قِيلَ سَبْعُمِائَةِ أَسِيرٍ. وَفِيهَا غَزَا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الرُّومَ فَافْتَتَحَ دَلْسَةَ.
Translation
✧ In the year one hundred and two ʿUmar b. Hubayrah raided the Byzantines from the direction of Armenia while he was governor of al-Jazīrah, before he became governor of Iraq. He defeated them and took many prisoners from them; it is said seven hundred prisoners. In it ʿAbbās b. al-Walīd b. ʿAbd al-Malik raided the Byzantines and conquered Dalsah.
