وَفِي سنة ثمان وتسعين غَزَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْمُهَلَّبِ دِهِسْتَانَ مِنْ أَرْضِ الصِّينِ فَحَاصَرَهَا وَقَاتَلَ عِنْدَهَا قِتَالًا شَدِيدًا، وَلَمْ يَزَلْ حَتَّى تَسَلَّمَهَا، وَقَتَلَ مِنَ التُّرْكِ الَّذِينَ بِهَا أَرْبَعَةَ آلَافٍ صَبْرًا، وَأَخَذَ مِنْهَا مِنَ الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَثَاثِ وَالْأَمْتِعَةِ مَا لَا يُحَدُّ وَلَا يُوصَفُ كَثْرَةً وَقِيمَةً وَحُسْنًا، ثُمَّ سَارَ مِنْهَا إِلَى جُرْجَانَ
Translation
✧ In the year ninety-eight, Yazīd b. al-Muhallab raided Dihistān in the land of China and besieged it and fought there a fierce battle, and he did not cease until he took it, and he killed of the Turks who were in it four thousand by execution, and he took from it of wealth, furnishings, and goods such as cannot be limited or described in abundance, value, and beauty. Then he marched from it to Jurjān.
