The Year Seventy of the Hijrah
يَوْمُ الْفُدَيْنِ وَأَغَارَ عُمَيْرُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ عَلَى الْفُدَيْنِ، وَهِيَ قَرْيَةٌ عَلَى الْخَابُورِ، وَقَتَلَ مَنْ بِهَا مِنْ بَنِي تَغْلِبَ، فَهَزَمَهُمْ، فَقَالَ نُفَيْعُ بْنُ صَفَّارٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ: لَوْ تُسْأَلُ الْأَرْضُ الْفَضَاءُ عَلَيْكُمُ شَهِدَ الْفُدَيْنُ بِهُلْكِكُمْ وَالصُّوَّرُ وَالصُّوَّرُ: قَرْيَةٌ مِنَ الْفُدَيْنِ.
Translation
✧ The Day of al-Fudayn ʿUmayr b. al-Ḥubāb raided al-Fudayn, which is a village on the Khābūr, and killed those of Banū Taghlib who were in it, and routed them. Nufayʿ b. Ṣaffār al-Muḥāribī said: If the open earth were asked about you, al-Fudayn and al-Ṣuwar would witness your destruction. Al-Ṣuwar is a village belonging to al-Fudayn.
