وَمِمَّنْ تُوُفِّيَ فِيهَا مِنَ الْأَعْيَانِ: الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ عَقَبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي مُعَيْطٍ، وَ أَبُو الْجَهْمِ، وَهُوَ صَاحِبُ الْأَنْبِجَانِيَّةِ الْمَذْكُورَةِ فِي الْحَدِيثِ الصَّحِيحِ وَفِيهَا قُتِلَ خَلْقٌ كَثِيرٌ يَطُولُ ذِكْرُهُمْ. وَفِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ مَاتَ الْأَحْنَفُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ بِالْكُوفَةِ مَعَ مُصْعَبٍ، وَقِيلَ: مَاتَ سَنَةَ إِحْدَى وَسَبْعِينَ بِالْكُوفَةِ لَمَّا سَارَ مُصْعَبٌ إِلَى قِتَالِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ. وَقُتِلَ هُبَيْرَةُ بْنُ مَرْيَمَ مَوْلَى الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ بِالْخَازَرِ، وَهُوَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْمُخْتَارِ وَثِقَاتِ الْمُحَدِّثِينَ. وَفِيهَا تُوُفِّيَ جُنَادَةُ بْنُ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ، وَأَدْرَكَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةَ، وَلَيْسَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ. وَقَتَلَ مُصْعَبٌ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ وَعَبْدَ الرَّبِّ ابْنَيْ حُجْرِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ، وَعِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ، قَتَلَهُمْ صَبْرًا بَعْدَ قَتْلِ الْمُخْتَارِ، وَبَعْدَ قَتْلِ أَصْحَابِهِ.
Translation
✧ Among the notables who died in it: al-Walīd b. ʿUqbah b. Abī Muʿayṭ, and Abū al-Jahm, who is the owner of the anbijāniyyah (a garment) mentioned in the sound ḥadīth. In it many people were killed whose mention would be lengthy. In this year al-Aḥnaf b. Qays died in al-Kūfah with Muṣʿab. It is said: he died in the year seventy-one in al-Kūfah when Muṣʿab marched to fight ʿAbd al-Malik b. Marwān. Hubayrah b. Maryam, the mawlā of al-Ḥusayn b. ʿAlī, was killed at al-Khāzir, and he was one of the companions of al-Mukhtār and one of the trustworthy transmitters of ḥadīth. In it died Junādah b. Abī Umayyah; he lived during the Jāhiliyyah but was not a Companion. Muṣʿab killed ʿAbd al-Raḥmān and ʿAbd al-Rabb, the two sons of Ḥujr b. ʿAdī, and ʿImrān b. Ḥudhayfah b. al-Yamān, killing them patiently after the killing of al-Mukhtār, and after the killing of his companions.
