The caliphate of Muʿāwiyah b. Abī Sufyān
وفي سَنَةُ سِتٍّ وَأَرْبَعِينَ شَتَّى الْمُسْلِمُونَ بِأَرْضِ الرُّومِ وَاخْتَلَفُوا فِي أَمْرِهِمْ، فَقِيلَ: مَالِكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَقِيلَ: عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ، وَقِيلَ: مَالِكُ بْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ الْفَزَارِيُّ.
Translation
✧ And in the year forty-six The Muslims wintered in the land of the Byzantines. They differed concerning their commander. It was said: Mālik b. ʿAbd Allāh; and it was said: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Khālid b. al-Walīd; and it was said: Mālik b. Hubayrah al-Fazārī.
