The caliphate of ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb

فَتْحِ الدِّينَوَرِ وَالصَّيْمَرَةِ  وَغَيْرِهِمَا لَمَّا انْصَرَفَ أَبُو مُوسَى مِنْ نَهَاوَنْدَ، وَكَانَ قَدْ جَاءَ مَدَدًا عَلَى بَعْثِ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ، فَمَرَّ بِالدِّينَوَرِ فَأَقَامَ عَلَيْهَا خَمْسَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَصَالَحَهُ أَهْلُهَا عَلَى الْجِزْيَةِ وَمَضَى، فَصَالَحَهُ أَهْلُ سِيرَوَانَ عَلَى مِثْلِ صُلْحِهِمْ، وَبَعَثَ السَّائِبَ بْنَ الْأَقْرَعِ الثَّقَفِيَّ إِلَى الصَّيْمَرَةِ مَدِينَةِ مِهْرِجَانَ قَذَقَ فَفَتَحَهَا صُلْحًا، وَقِيلَ: إِنَّهُ وَجَّهَ السَّائِبَ مِنَ الْأَهْوَازِ فَفَتَحَ وِلَايَةَ مِهْرِجَانَ قَذَقَ.

Translation

✧ The Conquest of al-Dīnawar, al-Ṣaymarah, and Others When Abū Mūsā returned from Nahāwand, having come as reinforcement for the expedition of the people of al-Baṣrah, he passed by al-Dīnawar and stayed there five days. Its people made peace with him on the jizyah, and he went on. Then the people of Sīrawān made peace with him on the like of their peace. He sent al-Sāʾib b. al-Aqraʿ al-Thaqafī to al-Ṣaymarah, the city of Mihrajān Qadhaq, and he conquered it by peace. It is said: He sent al-Sāʾib from al-Ahwāz, and he conquered the province of Mihrajān Qadhaq.
