The caliphate of ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb
وَفِي سَّنَةِ تسع عشرة ظَهَرَتْ نَارٌ مِنْ حَرَّةِ لَيْلَى، وَهِيَ قَرِيبُ الْمَدِينَةِ فَأَرَادَ عُمَرُ أَنْ يَخْرُجُ بِالرِّجَالِ إِلَيْهَا، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ بِالصَّدَقَةِ فَجَاءَ عُثْمَانُ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ وَغَيْرُهُمَا بِأَمْوَالٍ، فَقَامَ عُمَرُ يُقَسِّمُهَا فَانْطَفَأَتْ. وَقَالَ ابْنُ حَبِيبٍ: هَذِهِ النَّارُ خَرَجَتْ بِخَيْبَرَ
Translation
✧ In the year nineteen a fire appeared from the ḥarrah of Laylā, which is near al-Madīnah. ʿUmar wanted to go out with the men to it, then he commanded the Muslims to give charity. ʿUthmān, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, and others came with wealth, and ʿUmar stood distributing it, and it was extinguished. Ibn Ḥabīb said: This fire appeared at Khaybar.
