Chapter mentioning the offspring of Abraham (peace and blessings be upon him)
قال اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: وَأَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَى رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ فَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِ مِنْ ضُرٍّ وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُمْ مَعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِنْ عِنْدِنَا وَذِكْرَى لِلْعَابِدِينَ [ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ: 83 - 84 ]. وَقَالَ تَعَالَى فِي سُورَةِ ص: وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا أَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَى رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الشَّيْطَانُ بِنُصْبٍ وَعَذَابٍ ارْكُضْ بِرِجْلِكَ هَذَا مُغْتَسَلٌ بَارِدٌ وَشَرَابٌ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُمْ مَعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِنَّا وَذِكْرَى لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ وَخُذْ بِيَدِكَ ضِغْثًا فَاضْرِبْ بِهِ وَلَا تَحْنَثْ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَاهُ صَابِرًا نِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ [ ص: 41 - 44 ].
Translation
✧ Allah, exalted is He, said: “And [remember] Job, when he called to his Lord, ‘Indeed, affliction has touched me, and You are the most merciful of the merciful.’ So We responded to him and removed what was upon him of affliction, and We gave him his family and the like of them with them, as a mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers” [al-Anbiyāʾ: 83–84]. And He, exalted is He, said in Sūrat Ṣād: “And remember Our servant Job, when he called to his Lord, ‘Indeed, Satan has touched me with distress and torment.’ ‘Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a cool washing-place and a drink.’ And We granted him his family and the like of them with them, as a mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding. ‘And take in your hand a bundle [of reeds] and strike with it, and do not break your oath.’ Indeed, We found him patient. How excellent a servant! Indeed, he was ever turning [to Allah]” [Ṣād: 41–44].
