سَرِيَّةُ زَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ إلَى مَدْيَنَ [ بَعْثُهُ هُوَ وَضُمَيْرَةُ وَقِصَّةُ السَّبْيِ ] قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَسَرِيَّةُ زَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ إلَى مَدْيَنَ. ذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ حَسَنِ بْنِ حَسَنٍ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ فَاطِمَةَ ابْنَةِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِمْ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَعَثَ زَيْدَ بْنَ حَارِثَةَ نَحْوَ مَدْيَنَ، وَمَعَهُ ضُمَيْرةَ مَوْلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ، وَأَخٌ لَهُ. قَالَتْ: فَأَصَابَ سَبْيًا مِنْ أَهْلِ مِينَاءَ، وَهِيَ السَّوَاحِلُ، وَفِيهَا جُمَّاعٌ مِنْ النَّاسِ، فَبِيعُوا، فَفُرِّقَ بَيْنَهُمْ، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُمْ يَبْكُونَ، فَقَالَ: مَا لَهُمْ ؟ فَقِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فُرِّقَ بَيْنَهُمْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: لَا تَبِيعُوهُمْ إلَّا جَمِيعًا. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: أَرَادَ الْأُمَّهَاتَ وَالْأَوْلَادَ.
Translation
✧ The expedition of Zayd b. Ḥārithah to Madyan [His dispatch along with Ḍumayrah and the story of the captives] Ibn Hishām said: And the expedition of Zayd b. Ḥārithah to Madyan. ʿAbd Allāh b. Ḥasan b. Ḥasan mentioned that on the authority of his mother Fāṭimah bt. al-Ḥusayn b. ʿAlī, ؓ, that the Messenger of God ﷺ sent Zayd b. Ḥārithah toward Madyan, and with him was Ḍumayrah, the mawlā of ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib, ؓ, and a brother of his. She said: He captured captives from the people of Mīnāʾ, which is the coasts, where there was a gathering of people. They were sold, and they were separated from one another. The Messenger of God ﷺ came out while they were weeping and said: "What is the matter with them?" It was said: "O Messenger of God, they have been separated from one another." The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Do not sell them except together." Ibn Hishām said: He meant the mothers and the children.
