The messengers of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his correspondence to the kings and the like
إِرْسَالِهِ ﷺ فُرَاتَ بْنَ حَيَّانَ إِلَى ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ أُثَالٍ ؓ [هُوَ ابْنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ الْعِجْلِيِّ مَنْ بَنِي عِجْلٍ مِنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ وَائِلِ بْنِ قَاسِطٍ حَلِيفٍ لِبَنِي سَهْمٍ، هَاجَرَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ- ﷺ. رَوَى عَنْهُ حَارِثَةُ بْنُ مُضَرِّبٍ وَحَنْظَلَةُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ قَالَهُ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْبَرِّ. وَرُوِيَ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ- ﷺ بَعَثَهُ إِلَى ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ أَثَالٍ فِي قَتْلِ مُسَيْلِمَةَ وَقِتَالِهِ.
Translation
✧ His ﷺ sending Furāt b. Ḥayyān to Thumāmah b. Uthāl ؓ [He is the son of Thaʿlabah al-ʿIjlī, from the Banū ʿIjl of Bakr b. Wāʾil b. Qāsiṭ, an ally of Banū Sahm. He emigrated to the Prophet ﷺ. Ḥārithah b. Muḍarrib and Ḥanẓalah b. al-Rabīʿ narrated from him. This was said by Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr. And it was narrated from him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him to Thumāmah b. Athāl concerning the killing of Musaylimah and fighting him.]
