The messengers of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his correspondence to the kings and the like
إِرْسَالِهِ ﷺ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ بُدَيْلٍ ؓ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ [قَالَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْبَرِّ: عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بُدَيْلِ بْنِ وَرْقَاءَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ، قَالَ الْكَلْبِيُّ: هُوَ وَأَخُوهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ رَسُولَا رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ، وَشَهِدَا صِفِّينَ جَمِيعًا. وَقُتِلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بِصِفِّينَ، وَكَانَ سَيِّدَ خُزَاعَةَ، أَسْلَمَ مَعَ أَبِيهِ قَبْلَ الْفَتْحِ، وَشَهِدَ حُنَيْنًا وَالطَّائِفَ وَتَبُوكَ. وَكَانَ لَهُ قَدْرٌ وَجَلَالَةٌ، وَكَانَ عَلَيْهِ فِي صِفِّينَ دِرْعَانِ وَسَيْفَانِ، وَكَانَ لَهُ بِهَا مَوْقِفٌ عَظِيمٌ. وَقُتِلَ هُوَ وَأَخُوهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بِهَا ].
Translation
✧ His ﷺ sending ʿAbd Allāh b. Budayl ؓ to Yemen [Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr said: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Budayl b. Warqāʾ al-Khuzāʿī. Al-Kalbī said: He and his brother ʿAbd Allāh were the two messengers of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to Yemen, and they both witnessed Ṣiffīn. ʿAbd Allāh was killed at Ṣiffīn, and he was the chief of Khuzāʿah. He embraced Islam with his father before the conquest, and he witnessed Ḥunayn, al-Ṭāʾif, and Tabūk. He had standing and majesty, and at Ṣiffīn he wore two coats of mail and carried two swords, and he had a great stance there. He and his brother ʿAbd al-Raḥmān were both killed there.]
