Translation
✧ His ﷺ sending Ḍirār b. al-Azwar ؓ to al-Aswad and Ṭulayḥa Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr said: Ḍirār b. al-Azwar b. Mirdās b. Ḥabīb b. ʿAmr b. Kathīr b. ʿAmr b. Shaybān al-Asadī, whose kunya was Abū al-Azwar, and it is said: Abū Bilāl. He was a naturally brave horseman, and he was martyred on the day of al-Yamāma. When he came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ he said: I have left wine and gambling arrows and amusement as a pastime and indulgence So O Lord, do not let my bargain be cheated, for I have sold my family and wealth in exchange The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Your bargain has not been cheated, O Ḍirār! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had sent him to Banū al-Ṣaydāʾ and some of Banū al-Duʾil. Sayf b. ʿUmar al-Tamīmī mentioned him and said regarding the Prophet's ﷺ war against the people of apostasy, he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ fought them with messengers and letters. He said: Ibn ʿAbbās said: The Prophet ﷺ fought al-Aswad, Musaylima, Ṭulayḥa, and their followers with messengers, and the illness he was suffering did not distract him from the command of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and from defending his religion. So he sent Wabr b. Yuḥannis to Fayrūz and Jushaysh al-Daylamī among a group, which I have mentioned, and I have mentioned each of them in its chapter in the alphabetical letters of the messengers. Then he said, meaning Sayf b. ʿUmar: And he sent Ḍirār b. al-Azwar al-Asadī to ʿAwf al-Zurqānī of Banū al-Ṣaydāʾ and Sinān al-Asadī, then al-Ghanmī, and Quḍāʿī al-Daylamī ].
