The messengers of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his correspondence to the kings and the like
إِرْسَالِهِ ﷺ الصَّلْصَلَ بْنَ شُرَحْبِيلَ ؓ إِلَى صَفْوَانَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ [قَالَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْبَرِّ: لَا أَقِفُ عَلَى نَسَبِهِ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ، وَلَا أَعْلَمُ لَهُ رِوَايَةً، وَخَبَرُهُ مَشْهُورٌ فِي إِرْسَالِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ- ﷺ إِلَى صَفْوَانَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ وَسَبْرَةَ الْعَنْبَرِيِ وَوَكِيعٍ وَعَمْرِو بْنِ الْمَحْجُوبِ الْعَامِرِيِّ وَعَمْرِو بْنِ الْخَفَاجِيِّ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ، وَهُوَ أَحَدُ رُسُلِهِ ﷺ. وَذَكَرَهُ سَيْفٌ فِي كِتَابِ الرِّدَّةِ].
Translation
✧ His ﷺ sending al-Ṣalṣal b. Shuraḥbīl ؓ to Ṣafwān b. Umayyah [Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr said: I do not know his lineage. He was a Companion, and I do not know of any narration from him. His account is well-known regarding the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sending him to Ṣafwān b. Umayyah, Sabrah al-ʿAnbarī, Wakīʿ, ʿAmr b. al-Maḥjūb al-ʿĀmirī, and ʿAmr b. al-Khafājī from Banū ʿĀmir. He was one of his ﷺ messengers. Sayf mentioned him in Kitāb al-Riddah].
