The ʿUmrah of al-Jiʿrānah
عُمْرَةُ الْجِعِرَّانَةِ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْجِعِرَّانَةِ مُعْتَمِرًا وَذَلِكَ فِي ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ سَنَةَ ثَمَانٍ بَعْدَ غَزْوِ الطَّائِفِ، وَقَبْلَ تَقْسِيمِ الْفَيْءِ، وَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ عُمْرَتِهِ ﷺ انْصَرَفَ رَاجِعًا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَاسْتَخْلَفَ عَلَى مَكَّةَ عَتَّابَ بْنَ أُسَيْدٍ فَحَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ تِلْكَ السَّنَةَ، وَقَدِ اعْتَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَعْدَ الْهِجْرَةِ أَرْبَعَ عُمَرٍ كُلُّهُنَّ فِي ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ.
Translation
✧ The ʿUmrah of al-Jiʿrānah The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out from al-Jiʿrānah to perform ʿumrah, and that was in Dhū al-Qaʿdah of the year eight, after the expedition of al-Ṭāʾif and before the distribution of the spoils. When he ﷺ had completed his ʿumrah, he departed returning to Madinah, having appointed ʿAttāb b. Usayd over Makkah, and he led the people in the ḥajj that year. The Prophet ﷺ performed four ʿumrahs after the Hijrah, all of them in Dhū al-Qaʿdah.
