The Expedition of Ḥunayn (Hawāzin)
ذِكْرُ بَرَكَةِ يَدِهِ ﷺ فِي بُرْءِ جُرْحِ عَائِذِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو - ؓ رَوَى الْحَاكِمُ، وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، وَابْنُ عَسَاكِرَ عَنْ عَائِذِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ؓ قَالَ: أَصَابَتْنِي رَمْيَةٌ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ فِي جَبْهَتِي، فَسَالَ الدَّمُ عَلَى وَجْهِي وَصَدْرِي، فَسَلَتَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الدَّمَ بِيَدِهِ عَنْ وَجْهِي وَصَدْرِي إِلَى ثَنْدُؤَتِي، ثُمَّ دَعَا لِي. قَالَ حَشْرَجٌ وَالِدُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ: فَرَأَيْنَا أَثَرَ يَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَى مُنْتَهَى مَا مَسَحَ مِنْ صَدْرِهِ، فَإِذَا غُرَّةٌ سَابِلَةٌ كَغُرَّةِ الْفَرَسِ.
Translation
✧ Mention of the blessing of his hand ﷺ in the healing of the wound of ʿĀʾidh b. ʿAmr ؓ Al-Ḥākim, Abū Nuʿaym, and Ibn ʿAsākir narrated on the authority of ʿĀʾidh b. ʿAmr ؓ, who said: A shot struck me on the day of Ḥunayn in my forehead, and the blood flowed over my face and chest. The Prophet ﷺ wiped the blood with his hand from my face and chest up to my thanduʾah (the protrusion of the chest), then he supplicated for me. Ḥashraj, the father of ʿAbdullāh, said: We saw the trace of the hand of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ up to the end of what he wiped of his chest, and there was a flowing blaze like the blaze of a horse.
