The Expedition of Ḥunayn (Hawāzin)
Translation
✧ Mention of his ﷺ visiting Khālid b. al-Walīd ؓ — from a wound he sustained And ʿAbd al-Razzāq, and Ibn ʿAsākir, related from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Azhar ؓ, who said: Khālid b. al-Walīd was wounded on the day of Ḥunayn, and he was in command of the cavalry of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and was wounded on that day. I indeed saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, after Allah, may He be exalted, had defeated the disbelievers and the Muslims had returned to their camps — walking among the Muslims and saying: “Who will guide me to the camp of Khālid b. al-Walīd?” Then a man with a moustache was brought to him, and he commanded some of those with him, and they struck him with what was in their hands, and he threw dust upon him. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān said: I walked, or he said: I hastened, before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I was a youth who had reached puberty, saying: Who will guide to the camp of Khālid? until we guided him to it. And there was Khālid leaning against the back of his saddle. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to him and looked at his wound, and he spat upon it, and it healed ؓ.
