The Expedition of Ḥunayn (Hawāzin)
ذِكْرُ قَوْلِهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ أَنَا ابْنُ الْعَوَاتِكِ رَوَى الطَّبَرَانِيُّ عَنْ سَيَابَةَ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ السُّلَمِيِّ ؓ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ: «أَنَا ابْنُ الْعَوَاتِكِ”.
Translation
✧ Mention of his statement ﷺ on the day of Ḥunayn: “I am the son of al-ʿAwātik.” Al-Ṭabarānī narrated from Sayābah b. ʿĀṣim al-Sulamī ؓ that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Ḥunayn: “I am the son of al-ʿAwātik.”
