The Expedition of Banu al-Mustaliq (al-Muraysi')
غَزْوَةُ بَنِي الْمُصْطَلِقِ مِنْ خُزَاعَةَ قَالَ الْبُخَارِيُّ: وَهِيَ غَزْوَةُ الْمُرَيْسِيعِ. قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ: وَذَلِكَ فِي سَنَةِ سِتٍّ. وَقَالَ مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ: سَنَةَ أَرْبَعٍ. وَقَالَ النُّعْمَانُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ: كَانَ حَدِيثُ الْإِفْكِ فِي غَزْوَةِ الْمُرَيْسِيعِ. هَكَذَا حَكَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ، عَنْ مَغَازِي مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ؛ أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ فِي سَنَةِ أَرْبَعٍ. وَالَّذِي حَكَاهُ الْبَيْهَقِيُّ عَنْهُ وَعَنْ عُرْوَةَ؛ أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ فِي شَعْبَانَ، سَنَةَ خَمْسٍ. وَقَالَ الْوَاقِدِيُّ: كَانَتْ لِلَيْلَتَيْنِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ، سَنَةَ خَمْسٍ، فِي سَبْعِمِائَةٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ. وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، بَعْدَمَا أَوْرَدَ قِصَّةَ ذِي قَرَدٍ: فَأَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالْمَدِينَةِ بَعْضَ جُمَادَى الْآخِرَةِ، وَرَجَبًا، ثُمَّ غَزَا بَنِي الْمُصْطَلِقِ مِنْ خُزَاعَةَ فِي شَعْبَانَ، سَنَةَ سِتٍّ.
Translation
✧ The Expedition of Banū al-Muṣṭaliq of Khuzāʿah Al-Bukhārī said: It is the expedition of al-Muraysīʿ. Muḥammad b. Isḥāq said: That was in the year six. Mūsā b. ʿUqbah said: The year four. Al-Nuʿmān b. Rāshid, from al-Zuhrī, said: The incident of the slander was in the expedition of al-Muraysīʿ. Thus al-Bukhārī related from the Maghāzī of Mūsā b. ʿUqbah that it was in the year four. What al-Bayhaqī related from him and from ʿUrwah is that it was in Shaʿbān, in the year five. Al-Wāqidī said: It was on the second night of Shaʿbān, in the year five, with seven hundred of his companions. Muḥammad b. Isḥāq b. Yasār said, after narrating the story of Dhū Qarad: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stayed in Madinah for part of Jumādā al-Ākhirah and Rajab, then he raided Banū al-Muṣṭaliq of Khuzāʿah in Shaʿbān, in the year six.
