The Detachment of 'Abd Allah b. 'Atik Against Abu Rafi' Sallam b. Abi al-Huqayq al-Nadri
سَرِيَّةُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَتِيكٍ إِلَى أَبِي رَافِعٍ سَلَامِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحُقَيْقِ النَّضْرِيِّ وَقَعَتْ سَنَةَ سِتٍّ مِنَ الْهِجْرَةِ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ سَلَامَ بْنَ أَبِي الْحُقَيْقِ كَانَ مِمَّنْ حَزَّبَ الْأَحْزَابَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ قَدْ جَعَلَ لَهُمُ الْجُعْلَ الْعَظِيمَ لِحَرْبِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَاسْتَأْذَنَتِ الْخَزْرَجُ فِي قَتْلِهِ فَأَذِنَ لَهُمْ، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَتِيكٍ هُوَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ فِيهِمْ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُنَيْسٍ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَتِيكٍ فَقَتَلَهُ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ.
Translation
✧ The Detachment of ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAtīk Against Abū Rāfiʿ Salām b. Abī al-Ḥuqayq al-Naḍrī It took place in the year six of the Hijrah. That is because Salām b. Abī al-Ḥuqayq was one of those who had rallied the confederates against the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he had given them a great reward to fight the Prophet ﷺ. The Khazraj sought permission to kill him, and he gave them permission. So ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAtīk went out to him, he and his companions, among them ʿAbd Allāh b. Unays. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAtīk entered upon him and killed him in his bed.
