The Expedition of Banu Qurayzah in the Year Five
قَالَ ابْنُ إِسْحَاقَ: وَاسْتُشْهِدَ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ يَوْمَ بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ خَلَّادُ بْنُ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْخَزْرَجِيُّ، طُرِحَتْ عَلَيْهِ رَحًا فَشَدَخَتْهُ شَدْخًا شَدِيدًا، فَزَعَمُوا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ: " إِنَّ لَهُ لَأَجْرَ شَهِيدَيْنِ ". قُلْتُ: كَانَ الَّذِي أَلْقَى عَلَيْهِ الرَّحَا، تِلْكَ الْمَرْأَةُ الَّتِي لَمْ يُقْتَلْ مِنْ بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ امْرَأَةٌ غَيْرُهَا، كَمَا تَقَدَّمَ. وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ. : وَمَاتَ أَبُو سِنَانِ بْنُ مِحْصَنِ بْنِ حُرْثَانَ مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدِ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُحَاصِرٌ بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ، فَدُفِنَ فِي مَقْبَرَتِهِمُ الْيَوْمَ.
Translation
✧ Ibn Isḥāq said: Among the Muslims who were martyred on the day of Banū Qurayẓah was Khallād b. Suwayd b. Thaʿlabah b. ʿAmr al-Khazrajī. A millstone was thrown down upon him and crushed him with a severe crushing. They claimed that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: "He shall have the reward of two martyrs." I say: The one who threw the millstone upon him was that woman—no woman of Banū Qurayẓah was killed other than her, as has preceded. And God knows best. : And Abū Sinān b. Miḥṣan b. Ḥurthān of the Banū Asad b. Khuzaymah died while the Messenger of God ﷺ was besieging Banū Qurayẓah, and he was buried in their cemetery that day.
