The Expedition of Dhat al-Riqa'
Translation
✧ The story of the boy who was afflicted with madness, Al-Bazzār and al-Ṭabarānī in al-Awsaṭ, and Abū Nuʿaym narrated from Jābir ؓ who said: We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the expedition of Dhāt al-Riqāʿ until when he came to Ḥarrat Wāqim, a Bedouin woman came forward with a son of hers and said, “O Messenger of Allah, this is my son; the devil has overpowered him over me.” He opened his mouth and spat into it, then said, “Be gone, enemy of Allah, I am the Messenger of Allah” three times, then said, “Take charge of your son; Allah will not return anything of what used to afflict him.”
