The Expedition of Uḥud
[ رَجَزُ عِكْرِمَةَ فِي يَوْمِ أُحُدٍ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَقَالَ عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ أَبِي جَهْلٍ فِي يَوْمِ أُحُدٍ: كُلُّهُمْ يَزْجُرُهُ أَرْحِبْ هَلَا وَلَنْ يَرَوْهُ الْيَوْمَ إلَّا مُقْبِلَا يَحْمِلُ رُمْحًا وَرَئِيسًا جَحْفَلَا
Translation
✧ [The rajaz of ʿIkrimah on the Day of Uḥud] Ibn Isḥāq said: And ʿIkrimah b. Abī Jahl said on the Day of Uḥud: All of them are restrained by it: 'Arḥib! Halā!' And they will not see him today except advancing, Carrying a spear and a chief of a great army.
