The Expedition of Uḥud
[ مَا أَصَابَ ابْنَ عَوْفٍ مِنْ الْجِرَاحَاتِ ] قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: حَدَّثَنِي بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ:. أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ أُصِيبَ فُوهُ يَوْمئِذٍ فَهُتِمَ، وَجُرِحَ عِشْرِينَ جِرَاحَةً أَوْ أَكْثَرَ، أَصَابَهُ بَعْضُهَا فِي رِجْلِهِ فَعَرِجَ.
Translation
✧ [What Ibn ʿAwf Suffered of Wounds] Ibn Hishām said: Some of the people of knowledge related to me: that ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAwf was struck in the mouth that day, and his front teeth were broken; and he was wounded with twenty wounds or more, some of which struck him in his leg, so he limped.
