The Expedition of al-Furʿ (the Expedition of Banū Sulaym)
غَزْوَةُ الْفُرُعِ (غَزْوَةُ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ) وَقَعَتْ فِي السَّنَةِ الثَّالِثَةِ مِنَ الْهِجْرَةِ، وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ جَمْعًا مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ هُنَالِكَ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمْ فِي ثَلَاثِمِائَةٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَلَمَّا سَمِعُوا بِمَسِيرِهِ ﷺ تَفَرَّقُوا وَعَادَ ﷺ وَلَمْ يَلْقَ كَيْدًا.
Translation
✧ The Expedition of al-Furʿ (the Expedition of Banū Sulaym) It took place in the third year of the Hijrah. That was because the Prophet ﷺ received word that a group of Banū Sulaym b. Manṣūr was there, so he went out to them with three hundred of his companions. When they heard of his march ﷺ, they dispersed, and he ﷺ returned without encountering any hostilities.
