أَخْبَرْنَاهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا حُصَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ اسْتَقْبَلَ النَّاسَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ فَقَالَ «لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آتِيَ هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ يَتَخَلَّفُونَ عَنْ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةِ فَأُحَرِّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ بُيُوتَهُمْ» فَقَامَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا بِي وَلَيْسَ لِي قَائِدٌ قَالَ «أَتَسْمَعُ الْإِقَامَةَ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَاحْضُرْهَا» قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهَا نَخْلًا وَشَجَرًا وَلَيْسَ لِي قَائِدٌ قَالَ «أَتَسْمَعُ الْإِقَامَةَ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَاحْضُرْهَا» وَلَمْ يُرَخِّصْ لَهُ «وَلَهُ شَاهِدٌ آخَرُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَاصِمِ بْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ faced the people during the Isha prayer and said, 'I was about to go to those who stay behind from this prayer and burn their houses down upon them.' Ibn Umm Maktum stood up and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, you know my condition, and I have no guide.' He said, 'Do you hear the call to prayer (iqamah)?' He said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Then attend it.' He said, 'O Messenger of Allah, between me and it there are palm trees and trees, and I have no guide.' He said, 'Do you hear the iqamah?' He said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Then attend it,' and he did not grant him a concession. 'It has another witness from the hadith of Asim b. Bahdalah.'
