أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ بِالْكُوفَةِ ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الزُّهْرِيُّ ثَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ عَنْ عُبَيْدٍ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ قَالَ

أَرَادَ ابْنٌ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ يَخْرُجَ نَحْوَ الشَّامِ فَاطَّلَعَ عَلَيْهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ مِنْ فَوْقِ بَيْتٍ فَقَالَ «يَا بُنَيَّ لَا تَفْجَعْنِي بِنَفْسِكَ فَلَيَأْتِيَنَّ مِنَ الشَّامِ صَرِيخُ كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ»

✧ A son of Abdullah b. Salam wanted to go towards Syria. Abdullah looked at him from above a house and said, "O my son, do not grieve me with your own self. For the cry of every Muslim will surely come from Syria."
