✧ Three persons sat with Marwan in Madinah and heard him narrating about the signs, the first of which is the emergence of the Dajjal. The group rose from Marwan and sat with Abdullah b. Amr and told him what Marwan had said. Abdullah said: Marwan did not say anything. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The first of the signs to appear will be the rising of the sun from its west or the beast, whichever of them comes first, the other will follow it closely." Then he began to narrate and said, "That is because when the sun sets, it comes beneath the Throne and prostrates and asks permission to return, but nothing is answered to it." He said, "Then it returns and asks permission to return, but nothing is answered to it. It says: O Lord, how far is the east! Who will take me to the people? Until when night comes, it comes and asks permission, and it is said to it: Rise from your place." He said, "Abdullah used to read the scriptures and he recited: 'That day no soul will benefit from its faith if it had not believed before or earned good through its faith.'"
