أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ بِالْكُوفَةِ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّنَافِسِيُّ ثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ أَبِي الْمُخْتَارِ عَنْ بِلَالِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْعَبْسِيِّ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ
بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَعْثًا إِلَى دُومَةِ الْجَنْدَلِ فَقَالَ «انْطَلِقُوا فَإِنَّكُمْ تَجِدُونَ أُكَيْدِرَ دُومَةَ خَارِجًا يَقْتَنِصُ الصَّيْدَ فَخُذُوهُ أَخْذًا» فَانْطَلَقُوا فَوَجَدُوهُ كَمَا قَالَ لَهُمْ فَأَخَذُوهُ وَتَحَصَّنَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ وَأَشْرَفُوا عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ يُكَلِّمُونَهُمْ قَالَ يَقُولُ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ لِبَعْضِ مَنْ أَشْرَفَ أُذَكِّرُكَ اللَّهَ هَلْ تَجِدُونَ مُحَمَّدًا فِي كِتَابِكُمْ؟ قَالَ لَا قَالَ آخَرُ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ نَجِدُهُ فِي كِتَابِنَا يُشْبِهُ قُرَشِيَّانِ يَخْطُرُهُ قَلَمٌ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ كَفَرَ هَؤُلَاءِ قَالَ «بَلَى وَأَنْتُمْ سَتَكْفُرُونَ» فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ الْجَيْشُ وَخَرَجَ مُسَيْلِمَةُ فَتَنَبَّأَ قَالَ الرَّجُلُ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ أَمَا تَذْكُرُ قَوْلَكَ وَنَحْنُ بِدَوْمَةِ الْجَنْدَلِ وَأَنْتُمْ سَوْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ ذَاكَ أَمْرُ مُسَيْلِمَةَ؟ قَالَ «لَا ذَاكَ فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent an expedition to Dumat al-Jandal and said: "Go, for you will find Ukaydir of Duma outside hunting game, so seize him firmly." They went and found him as he had told them, so they seized him. The people of the city fortified themselves and looked down upon the Muslims, speaking to them. A man from the Muslims said to one of those who looked down: I remind you of Allah, do you find Muhammad in your Book? He said: No. Another beside him said: We find him in our Book resembling a Qurayshi; a pen from Satan makes him appear. The man said: O Abu Bakr, have these people not disbelieved? He said: "Yes, and you will disbelieve." When the army returned and Musaylimah emerged and claimed prophethood, the man said to Abu Bakr: Do you not remember your saying while we were at Dumat al-Jandal: 'And you will disbelieve'? Was that the matter of Musaylimah? He said: "No, that is at the end of time."
