✧ As for the saying of Anas

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ بِمِصْرَ ثنا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَمْعَانَ قَالَ

دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ مَسْجِدَ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ فَقَالَ ثَلَاثٌ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَعْمَلُ بِهِنَّ تَرَكَهُنَّ النَّاسُ كَانَ «إِذَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ هَكَذَا وَأَشَارَ أَبُو عَامِرٍ بِيَدِهِ وَلَمْ يُفَرِّجْ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِهِ وَلَمْ يَضُمَّهَا»

✧ Abu Hurayra entered upon us at the mosque of Banu Zurayq and said: Three things the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do that people have abandoned. When he stood for prayer he would do like this—and Abu Amir gestured with his hand, neither spreading his fingers apart nor closing them together.
