أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ جَمِيلِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «اللَّهُمَّ لَا يُدْرِكُنِي زَمَانٌ أَوْ لَا أُدْرِكُ زَمَانَ قَوْمٍ لَا يَتَّبِعُونَ الْعِلْمَ وَلَا يَسْتَحْيُونَ مِنَ الْحَلِيمِ قُلُوبِهُمُ الْأَعَاجِمُ وَأَلْسِنَتُهُمْ أَلْسِنَةُ الْعَرَبِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "O Allah, do not let me witness a time" or "may I not witness the time of a people who do not follow knowledge and are not shy before the forbearing; their hearts are non-Arab but their tongues are Arab tongues."
