✧ I went out to perform Hajj. Sulayman b. Anaz, the judge of the people of Egypt, said to me: "Convey my greetings to Abu Hurayrah and inform him that I sought forgiveness for him and his mother this morning." I met him and conveyed the message. He said: "And I have sought forgiveness for him." Then he said: "How did you leave Umm Hanw," meaning Egypt? I described its prosperity and comfort to him. He said: "Indeed, it is the first land to be ruined, then Armenia." I said: "Did you hear that from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He said: "No, but 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr b. al-'As told me that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'There will be migration after migration. The best of the earth's people will be the ones who cling most closely to the place of Abraham's migration. The worst of its people will remain on the earth; their lands will cast them out and Allah will find them detestable, and the Fire will gather them with apes and swine.'"
