✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “Gog and Magog will be released and will come out upon the people, as Allah Most High said: ‘From every height they will descend’ [Quran 21:96]. They will spread corruption in the earth, and the Muslims will withdraw to their cities and fortresses, bringing their livestock with them, and they will drink the waters of the earth, until one of them passes by a river and they drink what is in it until they leave it dry. Then those after them pass by that river and say, ‘There was once water here.’ Until no one among the people remains except one who has taken refuge in a fortress or a city. Their spokesman says, ‘These are the people of the earth; we have finished with them. There remain the people of the sky.’ Then one of them shakes his spear and throws it into the sky, and it returns stained with blood as a trial and tribulation. While they are in that state, Allah sends against them worms in their necks, and they emerge in their necks, and they become dead, no sound heard from them. The Muslims say, ‘Is there a man who will risk his life for us to see what this enemy has done?’ Then a man among them volunteers for that, seeking reward with Allah, having resigned himself to being killed. He descends and finds them dead, one upon another. He calls out, ‘O Muslims, rejoice, for Allah has sufficed you against your enemy.’ So they come out of their cities and fortresses and let their livestock graze, and they find no pasture except their flesh, and they give thanks for it better than they ever gave thanks for any vegetation they had ever eaten.”
