أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ثَنَا أَبُو عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيُّ عَنِ الْمُشَعَّثِ بْنِ طَرِيفٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

«يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ» قُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَسَعْدَيْكَ قَالَ «كَيْفَ أَنْتَ إِذَا أَصَابَ النَّاسَ جُوعٌ تَأْتِي مَسْجِدَكَ فَلَا تَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ تَرْجِعَ إِلَى فِرَاشِكَ وَتَأْتِي فِرَاشَكَ فَلَا تَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ تَنْهَضَ إِلَى مَسْجِدِكَ» قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ أَوْ مَا خَارَ اللَّهُ لِي وَرَسُولُهُ قَالَ «عَلَيْكَ بِالْعِفَّةِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ» قُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَسَعْدَيْكَ قَالَ «كَيْفَ أَنْتَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَ أَحْجَارَ الزَّيْتِ قَدْ عُرِّفَتْ بِالدَّمِ؟» قُلْتُ مَا خَارَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ قَالَ تَلْحَقُ بِمَنْ أَنْتَ مِنْهُ أَوْ قَالَ عَلَيْكَ بِمَنْ أَنْتَ مِنْهُ قُلْتُ أَفَلَا آخُذُ سَيْفِي فَأَضَعُهُ عَلَى عَاتِقِي؟ قَالَ «شَارَكْتَ إِذًا» قُلْتُ فَمَا تَأْمُرُنِي؟ قَالَ «تَلْزَمُ بَيْتَكَ» قُلْتُ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ بَيْتِي؟ قَالَ «فَإِنْ خَشِيتَ أَنْ يَبْهَرَكَ شُعَاعُ السَّيْفِ فَأَلْقِ رِدَاءَكَ عَلَى وَجْهِكَ يَبُوءُ بِإِثْمِهِ وَإِثْمِكَ»

✧ He said: 'O Abu Dharr!' I said: 'At your service, O Messenger of Allah, at your service.' He said: 'How will you be when people are struck by hunger such that you come to your mosque and cannot return to your bed, and you come to your bed and cannot rise to your mosque?' I said: 'Allah and His Messenger know best'—or 'what Allah and His Messenger have chosen for me.' He said: 'You must be chaste.' Then he said: 'O Abu Dharr!' I said: 'At your service, O Messenger of Allah, at your service.' He said: 'How will you be when you see the stones of al-Zayt marked with blood?' I said: 'What Allah and His Messenger have chosen.' He said: 'Join those you belong to'—or he said, 'stick to those you belong to.' I said: 'Should I not take my sword and put it on my shoulder?' He said: 'Then you would share in it.' I said: 'What do you command me?' He said: 'Stay in your house.' I said: 'What if someone enters my house?' He said: 'If you fear that the flash of the sword will dazzle you, throw your cloak over your face; he will bear his sin and your sin.'
