حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثَنَا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ثَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ

حَدَّثَنِي سَهْلُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ صَاحِبُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَسْلَمَ جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ زَنَى بِامْرَأَةٍ سَمَّاهَا وَأَنْكَرَتْ فَحَدَّهُ وَتَرْكَهَا» هَذَا إِسْنَادٌ صَحِيحٌ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَشَاهِدُهُ صحيح

Translation

✧ Sahl b. Sa'd, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, told me that a man from Aslam came to the Prophet ﷺ and said that he had committed adultery with a woman whom he named, but she denied it. The Prophet ﷺ punished the man and left the woman alone. This is a sound chain of narration, though they did not record it, and its supporting evidence is sound.
