✧ He visited an aunt of his, and she called for food for him. The servant girl was slow, so she said, 'Why don't you hurry up, O adulteress?' Amr said, 'Glory be to Allah! You have said something terrible. Have you seen her commit adultery?' She said, 'No, by Allah.' Amr said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Any male slave or woman who says to his or her slave girl, "O adulteress," without having seen her commit adultery, will be flogged by that slave girl on the Day of Resurrection, because there is no prescribed punishment for them in this world.'

machine translationThis is a hadith with a sound chain (ṣaḥīḥ al-isnād), but they (al-Bukhārī and Muslim) did not narrate it. In this chapter they agreed only on the hadith of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Nuʿm from Abū Hurayrah: "Whoever accuses his slave of fornication, the prescribed punishment (ḥadd) will be carried out against him on the Day of Resurrection." Rather, ʿAbd al-Malik b. Hārūn is abandoned (matrūk) by agreement, so much so that it was said of him that he is a liar (dajjāl).
